Installation Instructions for Windows 95 & 98
  1. Turn on the computer and wait till Windows 95/98 has finished booting.
  2. Double-Click on My Computer. This icon should be available on the Desktop.
  3. Double-Click on Dial-up Networking.
  4. Double-Click on Make New Connection
  5. Type in a descriptive term for the icon you are about to create, such as NextWeb.
  6. Select Configure. User should enter Configure Dialog.
  7. Select Connection
  8. Remove the tick on the Wait for dial tone before dialing.
  9. Click on OK. User should return to previous Dialog.
  10. Click on Next.
  11. If connecting from anywhere in the Maltese Islands, ignore Area Code.
  12. Enter Telephone Number:

    NextGen 21884730 21864730 56K / ISDN

  13. Select Country Code : Malta (00356).
  14. Click on Next.
  15. Click on Finish.
  16. An Icon called NextWeb will appear in the Dial-up Networking window ( refer to no. 5)
  17. Click on this icon with the Right Mouse Button & Select Properties.
  18. Remove the tick on the Use Country Code & Area Code.
  19. Click on Server Types.
  20. Remove the tick on the Log on to Network
  21. Add the tick on the Enable Software Compress
  22. Remove the tick on the Require Encrypted Password
  23. Remove the tick on the Net BEUI
  24. Remove the tick on the IPX/SPX Compatible
  25. Add the tick on the TCP/IP
  26. Click on OK.
  27. Click on the same icon again with the Right Mouse Button & Create Shortcut. This will create a shortcut icon in your desktop.
  28. Double-click on the Shortcut icon to enter user Login Name and Password as per NextWeb Internet Access Service Registration Form. Modem should initialize, dial, connect to NextWeb and Handshake.
  29. When connected, click on the START button.
  30. Select PROGRAMS.
  31. Click on the Internet Explorer Icon.
  32. Go to our Homepage by typing in the following URL in the Address field :
    http://www.nextweb.net.mt – The NextWeb Welcome Screen should appear.
  33. Updated News, E-mail and other settings are available in the Support section of our website. These are required for efficient use
